The Law Enforcement Alliance of America firmly believes that the media and politician’s
misguided understanding on proper “use-of-force” is getting cops killed and/or injured.
When media and political firestorms erupt each time officers are involved in a deadly
force situation, it has an impact on the cops working the street. In the October
2002 issue of the FBI’s Law Enforcement Bulletin, they researched cases involving
officers who were attacked or killed. The common denominator they found: the officer
hesitated when it came to using force.
When it comes to use-of-force, the media and politicians just don’t get it. The
gap of understanding mixed with anti-cop bias and unrealistic Monday morning quarterbacking
is causing hesitation on the job that can get cops killed. It is not enough for
departments to offer explanations after a use-of-force incident—the law enforcement
community has to become proactive.

Florida's got it right. Bravo for Sheriff Judd!!! A good answer!
As reported earlier this week, some dirt bag who got pulled over in a routine traffic
stop in Florida ended up "executing" the deputy who stopped him. The deputy was
shot eight times, including once behind his right ear at close range. Another deputy
was wounded and a police dog killed. A statewide manhunt ensued.
The low-life was found hiding in a wooded area with his gun. SWAT team officers
fired and hit the guy 68 times. Now here's the kicker:
Naturally, the media asked why they shot him 68 times. Polk County Sheriff Grady
Judd, told the Orlando Sentinel,.........
"That's all the bullets we had."
